Yeisk - one of the popular resorts of Krasnodaredge located on the coast of the Azov Sea. Every year thousands of tourists come here from all corners of our country. They like the mild climate of the Yeysk region, the transparent warm sea, the gentle sun, therapeutic mud and golden sand covering the entire coast.

But is there an airport in Yeisk? Yes, it is located just five kilometers south-west of the village, which makes it convenient for trips to the resorts of the Azov Sea. If desired, the airport can be quickly reached by taxi or public transport.
But does the airport in Yeisk today work forordinary tourists? Unfortunately no. In the summer season of 2016, Yeisk airport, however, like in previous years, civil aviation will not be accepted. However, this was not always the case.
The airport of Yeisk starts its history inearly fifties of the twentieth century. Here there is a small one-story airport building that fully meets the needs of local airlines between the cities of Yeisk - Rostov-on-Don, Yeisk-Krasnodar. At that time, flights were carried out on AN-2 planes daily for 6-8 round-trip flights.
With the commissioning in 1980 of a new,the beautiful building of the airport Yeysk extends the geography of its flights. Its passengers are becoming available to new destinations Krasnodar - Yeisk - Mariupol - Donetsk. Time is moving, and gradually new "L-410" turboprops of Czech manufacture are replacing the "An-2". The airport is developing.
But in 1993 all air transportations cease. In 1995, the airport is completely closed due to a lack of funding, all qualified personnel are dismissed.
Eysk Airport for Civil Aviationrevived in 2000, when the old building of the terminal was restored with the support of the city authorities and equipped with all necessary equipment, communication and management facilities.
Since June 10, 2000, flights on An-24 planes of the Moscow-based Karat Airlines to Moscow (Vnukovo) have been launched on a regular basis.
Since 2006, the airport has been granted access toreception of aircraft "Tu-134". The flight time on the route Moscow-Yeysk is reduced by half. Moscow is becoming a priority of the airport, charter flights are also being carried out.
Since 2009, the airport Eysk passes under the management of "Basel Aero" and becomes the base of the airline "YugLine", the fleet of which has fifteen aircraft.
In 2010, the airline "UTair" starts to conduct regular flights on the route Moscow - Yeisk.
But in 2012 the aerodrome ceases to servepassenger flights and completely closed for civil aviation. Partly it is transferred by the military to the air base, the construction of a new training complex for the armed forces of the Russian Federation begins.
Today Yeisk Airport has threerunways, two of which are asphalt concrete, and one is ground. Also available is the permission to accept the Yak-42, Tu-134, CRJ-200 and helicopters of any type.
While there is a repair of the runwayspassenger transportation is not carried out. However, there is a hope that they will resume. The reconstruction of the lanes is nearing completion, and in the future it is planned to transport civilians not only along the well-known direction Moscow-Yeysk, but also to launch a new one: St. Petersburg-Yeisk.
The opening of the airport Eisk, will undoubtedly contribute to an increase in the tourist flow and development of the resort infrastructure of the region.
In the meantime, residents and guests of Yeisk can observehead only training military aircraft. To use the services of passenger air carriers themselves, they need to overcome the distance to the nearest airports in Rostov-on-Don (220 km) or Krasnodar (250 km) by bus or taxi.
