Interpretation of one poem: "Prayer" by Lermontov

Creativity M. Yu. Lermontov, as critics have repeatedly noted, is permeated through with motives of protest and theomachism. A poet-rebel, a lonely poet, seeking rest in storms, perceiving himself on this earth forever persecuted wanderer, Lermontov did not reconcile either with the tyranny of the kings of the earth, or with the will of the rulers of heaven. Proud, who holds in his soul the hell of contradictions, sorrows and suffering The demon is the true hero of Mikhail Yuryevich, that's the reflection of his inner self. And the more surprising is to find among the angry, fiery, sharp-ironic lines of the poet subtle and penetrating lyrical miniatures. Yes, he wrote several poems, which he called "Prayers."

Verses of 1839

"Prayer" Lermontov, about which

Prayer for Lermontov
will be discussed in this article, was written inthe last years of the poet's life-more precisely, in 1839. It was inspired by the beneficial influence of the "light angel" of Mikhail Yurievich-Mashenka Scherbatova (Princess Maria Alekseyevna), who seriously loved and understood Lermontov's work, who highly valued him as a poet and a man. Moreover, Shcherbatova experienced a profound feeling for Lermontov. In moments of intimate conversations, when the young man shared with the princess innermost thoughts, feelings, sorrows, Shcherbatova advised him to turn to God. To bear tribulation, resentment, resentment towards Heavenly Father. And ask Him for help. The "prayer" of Lermontov is the embodiment in the poetic form of the young woman's covenant, the answer addressed to her.

Interpretation of poetic text

How unlike the poem on the majoritywhat the poet had time to write! Soft and melodic intonations, which seem to reproduce, seem to be the tone of that same main conversation. A calm, confidential story about the most important, intimate, that can happen in the life of each of us. Lermontov's "prayer" is the reproduction of such situations when a person ceases to rely only on himself or others. When only higher powers can help, comfort, give hope. It is about this - the first stanza of the work.

Lermontov's poems "Prayer"
The author underlines: about God we remember when it becomes bad, hopeless, when the heart "is sad", and we do not see any lumen. What remains to man on the edge of the abyss? Prayer! Lermontov in the second strophe of the poem speaks of her "blessed" strength, that the words of prayer are "living", full of "holy charm." What does it mean? Blessed - that is, saving, because in Christianity "grace" - the message to people about the possibility of salvation, forgiveness, eternal life. Hence the semantic logical chain is extended to the epithet of the "words of the living." On the one hand, Lermontov's poems "Prayer" emphasize that the texts of appeals to God, to the saints, exist for no one century, are repeated by thousands and thousands of people, they are known only by the little boy who has barely learned to speak, and the old man that lives his life. They are alive, as long as faith is alive. On the other hand, poetic lines emphasize that, by easing the soul in prayer, a person feels better, as if reborn again. Lermontov is an artist, and, as a creative person, delicately feels the beauty of the world in its various manifestations. He can not but react to the aesthetic side of the divine texts, their special poetics, the "holy charm". So from one more, unexpected side, we are shown the "Prayer" of Lermontov.

And the third stanza is a confidential description of what, what a person feels after communicating with God. This is catharsis, purification, rebirth, transformation. Thus, in the poem M.Yu. Lermontov's "Prayer" clearly traces three-part composition, helping to understand its ideological and aesthetic level.

This is an amazing work of the poet.
