The river Yaselda (description can be read below)flows in the Brest region in the south-west of Belarus, is the left tributary of Pripyat. It flows through the Dnieper-Bug canal in the city of Pinsk, connecting with the river Mukhavets. It has two reservoirs. Basically the swampy terrain prevails here, in some places it is possible to observe steep banks that encircle the river Yaselda.
Yaselda has the right tributary - the Vinets canal. Its length is 50 km. The river Zhegulyanka and the Oginsky channel belong to the left. Their length reaches 44 and 46 km respectively. The source passes through two lakes. In the Oginsky Canal the river intersects with Shchar.

One of these legends speaks of Svyatopolk, the prince of Turov. As if he, spending time hunting, met in the local places a girl who sang beautifully. Her voice enchanted the ruler, and he fell in love with her to the point of forgetfulness, forgetting about state affairs, and also about his own family. The girl was called Yasya. The people surrounding Svyatopolk were dissatisfied with the ruler's love: some wanted to kill the girl, others - to take away power from Svyatopolk. Worrying for her lover, Yasya rushed to the river that flowed in her native land, right on the shore where she first met the prince. Upon learning of her death, Svyatopolk for a long time could not come to his senses and grieved heavily. Later the ruler decided to name the stream in honor of his departed lover. This is how the river Yaselda appeared according to the legend. It is very interesting that in the Ivanovo region there is a village called Svyatopolk, through which a watercourse flows.
Next to those places in Motol, there is still a legend about Yasya and Aldu - a Belarusian young man and a Jewish girl who drowned in the river, saving their love.
The width of the valley is in different places from 4 to8 kilometers. At the beginning of the riverbed, where Yaseld is channeled, flow prevails at a speed of 1 km / h. According to the experience of tourists who visited the river, the water speed can sometimes reach 2.5 km / h. The vegetation world in the Yaselda Valley is represented byalders, oaks, pines, birches. In the South-East and North-West the expanses are deforested, and the rest of the territory is mostly swamped. In general, the forest cover is about 30%. Much of the space is covered by grassy marshes on lowlands. The river refers to the flat streams, so here the prevailing characteristic for the plains vegetation.
Most people visit the banks of Yaselda in order toecological tourism or fishing. The list of active recreation includes such activities as water and cycling. For many, the Yaselda River becomes a treasure trove of unique photographs. Here scientists and ordinary inhabitants come to enjoy the photo-hunting of animals and birds.
In the city of Bereza there is a biological reserve"Sporovsky", it housed a population of spitbill warbler. The administration of the Berezovsky district urges guests to visit Bezdezh, a village in the Drogichin district, which boasts a rich folklore and ethnographic originality.
If we talk about fishing, the main predator inthe waters of the Yaselda are pike. Besides it, carp, ruff, roach, tench are found in the river. Since sometimes trout, catfish and sturgeon are bred in the stream, they are bred at a local fish factory of the Seltsevoye reservoir, fishermen may be lucky enough to catch these types of fish.
