The concept of culture: corporate and organizational

Culture includes different aspects of liferights. Therefore the concept of culture is sometimes so diverse and its interpretation exists in several variants. Because of the breadth of understanding the term, there are controversial issues, for example: is there a difference between corporate culture and organizational culture? This will be discussed in the article.

Culture is the interpretation of the term.

For the first time the concept of culture arose in 160 BC. e. in the agricultural tract of Cato the Elder, writer, historian and statesman of Ancient Rome. Distinguish culture religious and connected with subjective qualities of a person. The term was interpreted in accordance with many existing scientific and philosophical definitions. For example, there are such statements about the essence of the subject of culture: "Culture is the realization in practice of spiritual and universal values." In a large Soviet encyclopedia, culture is explained as the level of development of a person and society existing at a certain historical stage, manifested in the types of people's activities and the organization of their lives, as well as the spiritual values created by humanity. In the case of Yu. Lotman, the concept of culture includes a set of information about a person's behavior that is not inherited genetically. Daniel Andreev understood by culture all the creative baggage that humanity possesses. In the modern interpretation of the value culture distinguish the whole aggregate of the results of human activity, which are recognized as valuable within specific social systems. Their totality is a characteristic feature of the social group and its spiritual basis.

The term "corporate culture" and "organizational culture"

Conducted scientific research, the purpose of which isis to study the life of organizations, manipulate both concepts of "corporate culture" and "organizational culture," practically using them as synonyms. To this opinion come domestic researchers VA Spivak, O. S. Vikhanovsky and others.

Between organizational and corporate culturestill there are differences. T.Yu.Bazarov has the opinion that organizational culture should be understood as a general characteristic of an organization, which includes its values, performance evaluation, behavior, perceptions of the organization's goals, principles of behavior and response options. He also explains the corporate culture as unsubstantiated assumptions gathered in a complex complex that is accepted by all members of the organization and sets the framework for behavior for the majority of the organization. Thus, the concept of corporate culture includes a unique set of values and behavioral models, individual for each particular organization. AA Maksimenko is trying to draw a line between organizational and corporate culture by the size of the organization, but does not specify what the number of employees should be in either case.

But at the same time the concept of organizational cultureis more general in relation to "corporate", since not every organization can be a corporation. If the term "corporate" refers to a professional culture, then it will include the values and norms of employees engaged in a specific field and serve as a basis for understanding responsibility and significance for society. Now we can treat "corporate culture" as a collective term that generalizes the organizational cultures of enterprises that are engaged in one area of activity.

Trying to separate these two terms, one can come tothe conclusion that the concept of culture, including organizational, is broader, designed to reflect the activities of the enterprise's collective (organization), the formation of a "team", the development of a unified style of work for all employees. A corporate culture more closely covers the work of the team, and consists of philosophy, value system, norms of behavior, behavioral rituals that are formed in the organization.
