Mother, trying to protect her daughter from Rideau, suppressed her vampire essence, so that the child could live a normal life.
Zero Kiria - a native of the hunter's clanvampires. Four years ago a vampire attacked his family, his parents were killed, and the boy was bitten. Now he can at any moment turn into a vampire of class "E" (an anthropoid monster with an irresistible desire to kill). But until this happens, he fulfills the duties of the Guardian and studies with Yuki. Because of his past, he hates the race of vampires and is confident that destroying them is best. To maintain discipline and law and order in school, Zero possesses the "Blood Rose" - a pistol with deadly bullets for a vampire.
Blood tablets no longer help him, soYuki allows her blood to drink. Zero takes from the girl a promise that when he loses his mind, she will shoot him from the Bloody Rose. He likes Yuki, and everything would be fine if not for the fatal bite, turning her into a vampire and wanting to take revenge on all the purebred bloodsuckers his girlfriend now belongs to.
